Trusts

What is a Trust?

A trust is a legal arrangement where one party (the settlor) transfers assets to another party (the trustees) to hold and manage for the benefit of specified individuals or a class of individuals (the beneficiaries).

The trust is governed by a trust deed, which sets out the terms and conditions under which the trustees must operate. For example, you might want to put money or property in trust for your children or grandchildren.

Trusts can be a valuable tool when it comes to estate planning, helping you pass assets down to future generations in a tax-efficient way. They can also provide valuable protection for your wealth, safeguarding assets from potential claims that might arise through divorce or bankruptcy. By using a trust, you can ensure your wishes are respected while giving peace of mind to your loved ones.
